CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Machine wash separately on gentle cycle to reduce pilling. Wash in cold water using gentle detergent. Consider using a color catcher sheet in wash cycle if concerned about color bleed. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low. Do not iron.

STORING YOUR HEIRLOOM QUILT

  • Store your quilt in acid free materials. There are acid free papers and boxes made for storing and preserving textiles. Hope chests and cedar boxes are not ideal because the wood produces acid that can ruin the quilt. Mothballs can also be harmful for quilts.

  • Rolling is preferred over folding. If you fold the quilt, take it out and refold it differently a few times a year.

  • Quilts need to breath and stay dry. Store in an area that doesn’t have wide temperature or humidity fluctuations. Plastic storage isn’t ideal since it traps moisture.

  • Preserve the colors by storing it in a dark place without sunlight.

batting

All quilts are made with Warm & Natural, the finest needle-punched cotton batting. The soft, natural cotton has never been washed or bleached with harsh chemicals and contains no resins or glues. Fiber content: 87.5% natural cotton & 12.5% polypropylene.

upcycled fabrics

When possible, Nasty Baby uses regenerative design practices with fabric. When fabric of exceptional quality or a with unique design becomes available, that fabric is purchased and repurposed for use in some quilt designs. The upcycled fabric in Nasty Baby’s quilts is always new and has never been used in any capacity before. The goal is to leave a positive impact on our environment and prevent textile waste and the use of raw materials in creating new products. It also allows Nasty Baby to offer small batch designs that will likely not be found anywhere else.
